NBPTS Board Recognition

Congratulations to our Art Teacher and A+/Magnet Coordinator, Mrs. Amanda A Gordon.  She recently renewed her National Boards for Professional Teaching Standards Portfolio and was recognized at the WSFCS School Board Meeting along with the other National Board Certified Teachers who recently renewed or received their original certification.

National Board Certification (NBC) is a voluntary, advanced teaching credential that goes beyond state licensure. NBC has national standards for what accomplished teachers should know and be able to do. The National Board certifies teachers who successfully complete its rigorous certification process.  The process is a portfolio that involves videoing the teacher's classroom, written responses, artifacts, assessments, and more.  It takes 6 months to a year to complete the process.
