Meet the Coordinator

Mrs. Amanda Gordon is the Magnet Coordinator for our school.  She also serves as the A+ Coordinator and teachs Visual Art.  She has been teaching at our school for 16 years.  She chairs the Yearbook and annual Black History Events.  She studied Studio Art Education at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and completed her AIG certification from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.  She is a National Board Certified Teacher and serves as a mentor to new teachers.  She was accepted into the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Teacher Leadership Cohort.  She is the school representative for the WSFC Arts Council, a member of the Stokes County Arts Council, and stays active in her church as the webmaster.  She was the school Teacher of the Year in 2011, won several blue ribbons at local fairs, has been awarded classroom grants, and has been featured in stories on Fox8, The Chronicle, the WSFCS District Blog, and the Stokes News.   Previously, she was nominated for the annual Gerri D. Howell Educator of the Year for North Carolina A+ Schools and was chosen to receive this award in 2016.  She also was named the Arts Educator of the Year 2016 in Winston-Salem/Forsyth County by the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Arts Council and the Magnet Teacher of the Year for the district in 2017.  She  maintains a personal blog/online gallery of her work at www.amandagordonart.blogspot.com as one of her hobbies includes digital photography.  To contact Mrs. Gordon, you may call her at school at 703-4102 or email her at aagordon@wsfcs.k12.nc.us.  Click here to visit her classroom website.
